smOMedia seeking Interactive Graphic Desingers.

We are currently looking to fill two positions for Interactive Graphic Designers.


     smOMedia is a growing digital creative agency based out of Portland, Oregon. We are seeking two highly motivated interactive graphic designers who can combine a strong artistic sense and technical skill to create compelling, award-winning designs in a fast-paced, environment.


Responsibilities include:
     • Interpret project requirements, specifications, and create original mockups for client-facing Web applications, while striving for innovation and creativity whenever possible.
     • Design websites, portals, mobile interfaces, microsites, email templates, and other interactive deliverables.
     • Possess an advanced understanding of design principles, typography, and page layout, and have an impeccable eye for detail.
          • Awareness of current trends and best practices in web and UX design.
          • Ability to observe, understand and translate clients wants and needs to a finished product.
          • Excellent documentation and presentation skills, strong oral and written communication skills and willingness to              
          work in a collaborative environment.
          • Deliver work in a timely manner, in keeping with budget and technology constraints.


Qualifications:
          • 2-plus years of online graphic design and development experience.
          • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Fireworks, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Illustrator
          • Proficient in CSS, HTML, XHTML
          • A growing understanding of HTML 5 and CSS 3
          • Basic level understanding of jQuery, JavaScript and helpful
          • Online portfolio displaying strong online designs required

Set backs are not an issue.

    For the record backing up your files/media is a must. Tuesday my laptop took a turn for the worse so I had spent the last 24 hours recovering all my media/files from my work PC. I was able to save the majority of my media unfortunately I did lose all of the web coding for the website.

    We where due to launch this Friday so I'm sorry to say that launch date for the website will be pushed back, at this point in time I cannot say how long but we are working to get back on track. Stay posted for more information and updates regarding the launch of our website.

With The Holidays Behind Us...

     Its full steam ahead as we look forward to the launch of our new website. As you could imagine things have been hectic and busy this holiday weekend, trying to manage my personal relationships and finish the business end of our website for our launch date later in the week.


    We have been more than happy with the response we have recieved in regards to employment opportunitys with smOMedia. On that note I would like to take the time to welcome Adam Desousa to the smOMedia team. Adam is based out of Toronto, Canada and will be heading up our Sales and Marketing campagin due to launch later this summer.

An Object In Motion Stays In Motion

     Hope the holiday weekend has been going well for all of you. On our end of things I myself have been busy with the constant update of smOMedias new website due to launch later this week. I have been taking the time to refine and add my last minute touches, everything is on track and we have been more than happy with the response that we have received and since the idea was born.

On Track

I'm happy to say that we have been on pace in terms of where I wanted to be with the website for our launch  early this week.

     We are also proud to welcome Henry Charlotten to the smOMedia team. Henry is from The Bronx, New York and will be handling client relations and advising daily operations with our company. Also Monday I will be meeting with a talented web and graphic designer out of Portland, Oregon to discuss opportunity with our company. We are still looking to fill positions with our company, we ask that if you are still interested you take the time to read and apply.

As Things Come Together

Im glad to say that things have been rather busy, the networking aspect of things has generated more response than I could have imagined and we are taking the steps and interviewing serious applicants. If you are still interested in any of the positions that we have to offer we would love to hear from you.

I would like to let everyone know that I apologize for not having a website up sooner. We put things in motion and they seemed to have taken off faster than we could have imagined. At this point we have been so busy speaking with applicants and networking that we have slowed the launch of our website. Over this holiday weekend I plan to spend alot of time finishing the design and coding to have it live by the fourth.

Keeping up with all this has a been a bit crazy. With the new website under construction and daily traffic up I'm happy to say that things are headed in the right direction. We currently still are looking to fill a number of positions.
